Key Financial & Budgetary Actions
- 2026 Budget Approval: The proposed budget for 2026 was formally approved, with a strategic goal to operate in a deficit for the year.
- Donations & Expenses: The board agreed to maintain County 76 donations at $400 and discussed funding the attendance of two board members at the state convention.
- Holiday Event Review: Due to significant communication and contracting issues with Pleasant Valley Country Club during the recent holiday luncheon, the board suggested seeking alternative venues for future events.
Leadership & Operational Updates
- Passing of the Gavel: Past President Pam Abrams officially passed the gavel to Michele Wasson. The 2026 Board was introduced to the membership.
- Process Improvements: To ensure smoother operations, members must submit PowerPoint additions by the Friday before meetings. The board is also reviewing the election process to improve on last year’s experience.
- Project Shifts: The St. Joseph pollinator garden has been dismantled. A new application focusing on seed saving and germination has been submitted, while greenhouse resources are being redirected to the Juvenile Detention Center and Historic Arkansas Museum projects.
