Just over a year ago a storm blew through Mt. Holly Cemetery and damaged the beautiful cast iron Victorian Fountain. It has taken a year but recently on one of our work days it was started for the first time after restoration/repair. It is a spectacular fountain and we enjoy planting the garden around it a couple of times a year. I have also attached a New Dawn rose blooming recently. We get sporadic blooms in the fall but if you have not been by Mt. Holly in the spring when the roses are all blooming you have missed something wonderful. The bad/ugly has to come with the beautiful sometimes, I have also attached a photo of Rose Rosette virus on one of our bushes. Several have been removed over the last few years because of Rose Rosette. There is nothing to cure it, just remove the bush and all of the roots then destroy them (do not compost or put in your yard waste). There, you get a tiny educational bit too.
Happy gardening my fellow Master Gardeners
