Pinnacle Mountain workday August 24,2023

8 master gardens endured the heat for 2 hours.
Cornflower Seeds were collected to give out to the master gardener class in October .  We collected more than we needed and the plan is to place in envelopes and give to the visitors center for visitors to take the seeds for their garden.
Peggy did a short presentation on the cardinal flower( see red flower below)
The milkweed plants are in full bloom so we are waiting on the migration south of the monarch butterflies.
American beauty berry is full of purple fruit for the birds this fall.
The ground was very dry and we elected to set the sprinkler timer on for every other day for 3 weeks.
