President’s Message: March, 2023

President’s letter

Our new county agent, Derek Reed, has hit the ground running.  He has already signed (by hand!) 300 membership cards.  We’ll need those cards… because our asst treasurer, Arlene Sevilla-White, has had a team helping her gather our 2023 dues.  Remember, if you are dues paid by the end of April, you get a free MG t-shirt.

Jacque Ault and her team have put in many hours (well over 100, to be exact) to bring you our 2022 busy bee report.  Besides announcing in the February meeting, you can also see the results on our website.  And remember, putting in the hours doesn’t count if you don’t record them!  Putting in those hours every month helps us all stay current and aware of our status.

Sara Jordan put on an excellent chair/co-chair seminar after the February meeting.  Box lunches were provided, and the energy and enthusiasm were contagious.  We are lucky to have so many dedicated leaders in our group.  We have 30 successful projects scattered over Little Rock/North Little Rock/Maumelle/Jacksonville/Sherwood.

The social committee has a new chairperson:  Sharon Priest!  After serving not once but twice as president (thank you, COVID), Sharon is still actively involved and dedicated to PCMG. Her committee will host a “Gardener’s Gather” luncheon at Faulkner Lake Orchard on March 16th.  They have also already scheduled our annual holiday luncheon for December 5th.  Details will be forthcoming at that event.

So good things are happening at PCMG.  I grew up in Forrest City, always hearing the phrase:  “The more you put into something, the more you get out of it.”  This group is no exception to that adage, so I urge all of you to stay connected and involved.  It is extremely rewarding.

See you at the meeting.
