Plant sales are starting up. Watch for more information about our very own greenhouses here in Little Rock and at Pathfinder in Jacksonville. More information to come for them.

  • In the meantime, the Little Rock Audubon Center is advertising their plant sale. Online ordering starts Thursday, April 13 at 8am with curbside pickup April 27th – 29th at the Little Rock Audubon Center. The online ordering link will be released in their FB eventon their website, and via email (to their email list) on April 13th. Questions, reach out to audubonarkansas@audubon.org.
  • The Nevada County Master Gardeners are selling Red Calliope Geraniums. The pots are large and beautiful with 3 to 5 plants per pot. The cost is $25.00 each and the deadline for ordering is Wednesday, March 15th with delivery Monday, March 20th in Nevada County. Numbers are limited, please see the flyer here and/or contact Janis Wren at 870-397-3372.

It is with great sadness that I share the following obituaries:

  • Jane Gulley shared the loss of one of our own,  Mary Lee Darr McHenry (Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Feb 28, 2023). Memorial service to be held at a later date.
  • Jane Heaston of the Argenta project lost her husband last week. Please click here for the obituary of Bill Heaston and make note that a Celebration of Life will be held this Thursday March 9 from 2-5 pm at Roller Chenal Funeral Home.

Please keep both families in your thoughts and prayers and they deal with this difficult time.

Listen to KARN 102.9 radio this weekend and hear one of our own make a plug for the Pulaski County Master Gardener program amongst other things. Don Ford has been asked by Steve “Wildman” Wilson to appear on his radio show which will air Saturday, March 10th at 6am and Sunday, March 11th at 4pm.

  • The Old State House is running an exhibit of Arkansas flora y fauna drawings by Kent Bonar called “Forty Years in the Woods”. Learn more here.
  • Don’t forget Randy Forst’s weekly blog (The Arkansas Garden With Randy Forst) on the state website. There is also a link on the homepage of the armgs.org website under ‘Links’ on the right sidebar.
