Al asked me to forward these photos from our workday yesterday to you. We mainly planted tomatoes, peppers and squash, but also harvested our first turnips. Also checked out the thriving blackberry, cabbage, snow pea and lettuce beds. And, as always of course, weeded.

I wanted to share some photos of the best of PCEX this week and I only wish I could send the scent of the drift roses! If you have a chance to stop by just to look and smell you will leave with a smile. We have bluebirds nesting in the box in the herb bed so the lack of our usual upkeep hasn’t bothered them a bit!

We have finished our summer annual planting and mulched around our new stone path.
Even the Fire Department celebrated with us….not really, there was a small fire in the kitchen! But the staff and firemen liked it!

We want to thank the Little Rock Parks and Rec guys.
They did a great job of tilling and providing a layer of compost! Enjoy!

Our members have decided they may work individually at Witt Stephens to follow the safety measures for social distancing during this time of COVID-19. For all practical purposes, the Nature Center is closed. But some exercisers still pass by, just not the volume we normally have. Here are a few native plants blooming:Columbine, Crested Iris, Copper Iris, Red Buckeye, May Apple, Spiderwort

It is Springtime at the Courthouse Garden with Mother Nature showing out, even in these trying times. Our project members miss working with each other at this beautiful historic place but realize what must be done. We will persevere!
